'It’s a case of three cars into one corner, which is always risky, but I believe it could have been managed better,' she explained. 'Charles was the innocent party here, positioned as far to the right as possible. Kimi, on the other hand, didn’t fully utilize the available space, which put Oscar in a difficult position.' Chadwick boldly stated, 'I think Oscar has been unfairly treated. Kimi could have maintained his position while giving Oscar more room, avoiding the contact altogether.'
The 10-second penalty significantly impacted Piastri's race, dropping him from a potential second-place finish to fifth. This result widened his points gap behind Lando Norris in the championship fight from 16 to 24 points—a massive blow for the 24-year-old Australian. Chadwick also defended Piastri's lock-up, arguing it wasn’t due to a loss of control but rather a reaction to Antonelli’s movement. 'Oscar locked up because he saw Kimi turning in on him, naturally pressing the brake harder and turning left to stay near the white line,' she explained. 'Even with the lock-up, he stayed as close to the line as possible, but Kimi didn’t give him enough space.'
